Tudors at the Tower is back for a second year

Immerse yourself in a living Tudor world in the Tower’s moat. Help King Henry VIII’s courtiers to prepare for Anne Boleyn’s coronation. Join characters from the past and embark on a royal quest by taking part in a masque, learn to be a court fool or pick up ‘knightly’ skills to be presented to Queen Anne.

Enjoy hands-on family activities including Tudor crafts and games. Meet Tudor blacksmiths, carpenters, cooks and stonemasons. Try your hand at candle-making or have a go with a crossbow! Don’t forget to visit the pop-up palace to experience interactive 360-degree films.

Polly traces the journey of the cocoa bean from its ancient origins as Central American currency to its introduction to the English royal court, where the Stuarts and then Georgian royals and their couriers enjoyed this luxurious treat. Polly was one of the curators who researched the history of the Chocolate Kitchen at Hampton Court Palace, which were re-opened to our visitors in 2014.
